ON A COMMON COLD
Here comes the common cold….
More medicines to be sold,
It’s going to take its tolls,
Let me truth be told.
Sneezing, coughing and red noses,
Pain in teeth, and roots of hair,
Difficult breathing,
Speaking out of hearing.
Here comes the common cold…
Afflicted with the desire to visit theaters,
Lonely people become gregarious,
We all behave foolishly,
We all live selfishly,
Friends are then no longer,
Friendless become social,
Bacteria as large as mice,
With feet of fire and heads of ice.
Here comes the common cold…
Pick up your hat and stethoscope
Go wash your face with the laundry soap
I did not call you to be told
My malady is a common cold.
Pleasure of life is much less
Everything becomes tasteless
This cold you wave away as naught
Is the damnedest cold man ever caught!
O’ SWEET DREAM
O’ Sweet Dream! You are worthy, peaceful shelter.
I revel in you, my dear, dear fellow!
You come to me and fondle me,
Take me away from agony,
My poor soul wants comfort from you,
To get rid of gloomy shadows.
Penetrate in me with your sweet gaieties,
And enkindle your lasting glamour.
Let me go in trance, away from
This troublesome and cruel world,
To seek ecstasy, to join with beloved.
O’ Sweet Dream! Take me in your peaceful lap,
And fill me with your sweet joys.
Here, only you are my fellow,
I gleaned you for passing my all nights!
THE TEACHER
As a child, I had so many yearnings.
I wanted to be a painter and paint a master piece.
I wanted to be a soldier and fight for my nation.
As times, I wished to become a doctor.
I aspired to become an architect and design a grand edifice.
I wanted to be sculptor, work with raw clay and make an ideal hero.
I wanted to fly a jet plane.
At times, like a magician, I wanted to entrance people,
Like a commander, wanted everyone to follow my orders,
Like a scientist, I wanted to formulate a modifying potion,
And give it to all naughty children!
The imaginative idealist in me made me urge
To shape the destinies of people till they become ideally perfect.
But as I grew, I realized
That being all in one was not so easy.
And I’d have to select one field in life
I was flabbergasted!!!
Than someone who had the power to speak without troubling her tongue,
To listen without bothering her ears, and to hypnotize
Without even looking into the eyes,
Brought me out of the wood!
I discovered all my ideal roles in her single person:
She was a painter, a sculptor, an architect, a magician.
A doctor, a designer, a model, a Lawyer
A loving mother, a commander and a pilot.
She could do everything on earth for she taught.
She inspired me to work painstakingly, and with honesty
And get all my yearnings come true!
Now I am a paint; I paint new horizons on canvases of imagination!
I am a sculptor: I use clay of youths’ mind; and using prose and poetry as my tools;
I work dexterous figure with gentle hearts!
I am s doctor: I can cure little broken hearts and injured thoughts
With few kind words or just a smile!
I am a commander whose words are but the law!
I am a magician: I keep them apellbound even during the lecture on straw!
I keep them for a little while, instruct them how to be gentle and kind.
I train and direct their impressionable minds.
I guide them how to live and how to be strong.
And tell them what’s right and what is wrong.
I help them in their academic strife.
And get the best they can from life.
I love the process of teaching; cherish its creative opportunities.
I enjoy listening to you dear students, like watching your dramas
And reading your stories too.
It is the love for intangible process of class room
That renders me with energy and strength.
I am re-energized when you feel,
That you can do things, can read, can write, can think and learn better
I am a teacher:
I love to nourish your heroism!
