ANTIOXIDANTS FOR ARTHRITIS

Many people suffering from arthritis are caught up in a devastating cycle of pain, depression, and stress. Becoming an active participant in managing your pain however, can breat that vicious circle. Besides drugs, therapy and surgery, you can also try eating to beat arthritis. The right foods have helped many patients improve their condition.

Findings from the landmark Framingham study indicate that the antioxidant vitamins C.E and Beta carotene help to prevent the progressions of osteoarthritis. Antioxidants help to neutralize chemicals formed within cells during normal metabolism that can damage cartilage and possibly cause inflammation as well. So what are the best sources of antioxidants? Fruits and vegetables, of course. Here's what you can take to maximize your daily antioxidant intake:

1. Cabbage, cauliflowers & broccoli raw or lightly cooked.
2. Deepest, darkest green leafy vegetables.
3. The deepest orange carrots, sweet potatoes and pumpkins.
4. Red grapes rather than green or white varieties.
5. Red and yellow onion instead of white.
6. Garlic raw and crushed.
7. Whole fruits rather than juices.
