Modernization And Pakistani Women

Media blitz of twenty first century has stormed the historically conservative cultures across the world. The idea has its genesis in the proactive role played by women of the two world wars. Absence of men for longer duration due to their increased demand on the war front created scarcity of work force required to run the war industry at home.
The vacum was immediatly filled by wome which became a non-reversible phenomenon for the orthodox church. The unprecndented change progressively increased but was withheld from the underdeveloped world primarily due to the conservative cultures at the latter's amphitheatre.
Today's, media has unlocked the "sim sim door"
Islam, a religion of all times, has been our hallmark giving unmatched outlook to the female organ of our society, unfortunately, the cultural offensive launched by our arch rival "India" is geared to destroy our core cultural values, our very foundations.
The stream of very popular programmes beamed under "star plus" the most popular channel in our women, are all aimed at inculcating the Hindu culture back in our blood. All this necessitates specific education of our girls to withstand the propaganda campaign till the time our own media matures to respond appropriately.
We, as women, must feel pride in our religion and culture both. We should be literate enough to understand modernization in the correct prespective. Vulgarity in all its forms should be ruthlessly defeated which is only possible by educating our future generations.
We must ask them to spend some quality time in seeking knowledge, over and above what is in the text books, rather than wasting their time in idle pursuits like watching useless Indian movies.
At the organic level, absence of a professional aim haunts the spirit to progress in our girls. From the very outset they are fed the idea of being a houswife. Although its importance can never b undermined yet it inhibits their ambitions at a very early stage.
Correct and high aim is at the centre stage of a prosperous personality. The role played by Mauhtarma Fatima Jinnah in our struggle for freedom can never be overemphasized. Do we not find the climax of the real "modernization" in her role with the father of the nation? Can we not distinguish the quality of respect enjoyed by Florence Nightingale vs Madonna or Karina Kapoor?
It is imparative that our young ladies be educated to rise to the occasion ane seize the opportunity. They should be seasoned enough to feel pride in covering their heads, they should value this freedom by imagining their sisters in France who are sacrificing their lives for this very basic right. It is a three pronged activity, with the real parents and us "the spiritual parents" duty dound to deliver.

None of us can shirk our responibility to the other. It's not a doomsday scenario yet:, today we find our young ladies flying fighter aircrafts, engineering mega structures, dominating the IT world ane fixing heavy mechanical puzzlds. There are host of other fields which have been baptized by our women folk, their potentials are largely unexplored in our country. The need of the hour is that we should guide them to the right pedestal for their first flight. I am very sure that they will prove to be a feather in our cap.
