MY IDEA OF AN EDUCATED PERSON
In this world, there are only a few who are educated. The rest just show-off to be but actually aren’t. the real ones are honest and straight forward. Education actually can be a complex idea to be dealt with. According to me,
“Education is supposed to mean getting a degree and qualifying oneself for a white-collar job. The longer the catalogue of degrees, the more educated a person is believed to be. That is a narrow and wrong concept”.
True education doesn’t mean attending schools and passing examinations. It is a complete development of a person; physical and mental; economic and social; moral and ethical. It makes education a lifelong process. An educated person is well-informed. While he should have through knowledge of a subject in which he has specialized; he should have broad knowledge of the development in other fields. He should read newspapers, periodicals and book of general interest; and more importantly he should think; ponder and meditate. He shouldn’t exhibit his knowledge out of season, but only where required. He loves to mix up with people; observes them; and sees life as a whole to acquire maturity from experience.
Unfortunately, our educational system doesn’t propose moral development of youngsters. Mostly, it has been noticed that people holding high officers are inwardly crook, hollow and corrupt. Such people also don’t attend to their health also and fall and easy prey to smoking; drinking and gambling. Sooner or later, they fall into the ‘underworld’. An educated man, on the other hand, considers himself to be useful member of the society, and does a lot of sports and activity
to keep fit. He dresses smartly to give a good, decent outer appearance. His manners are sophisticated and suave. He enjoys a welcoming personality. He always keeps himself busy, his company running, and his friends and family happy.
