RESPONSIBILITY

Let us take a look at the modern day life style. The father has a steady job , yet he struggles continuously to provide for his family material comforts. As is the modern day working mother who, in quest for getting richer to fulfill her child’s material necessities, sometimes forgets her basic duty to raise her child in a certain manner. No doubt financial well-being is vital to put the children in good institutions but is this the only way parents can fulfill their responsibilities?

Why don’t we ponder over a concerning matter i.e. are we teaching our children do’s and do not according to our Din so that they grow up not only as responsible citizens but also as good human beings.

I think it’s better for parents to have time to talk to their children and spend time with them because this is quality time.

In this scientific and material age parents need to play an important role in helping their children explore their hidden potentials and channelize their energies in the right direction.

The million dollar question is why are we not giving importance to morality, values, consideration compassion, tolerance etc. Today’s parents feel that by  catering to the material needs they have fulfilled their responsibility.

What is the value and importance of relatives and relationship in this cold world NOTHING, because we don’t promote these values of relatives and relationship.

Children are trusts given to parents will be held accountable for this trust on the day of Judgment. If parents fulfill his responsibility they will be free of the consequences on the Day of Judgment. The children will become better  human beings, better citizens and a pleasure to the eyes of their parents first in this life and then in the life hereafter.

The paretns should teach their children Islamic manners and etiquettes in accordance with  beautiful examples of Prophets. (They should make them realize the importance and benefits of Islam, the foundation on which it is based)
The parental responsibility lies not only with the father but also with the mother. Hazrat Muhammad PBUH said :Take care! Each of you is a shepherd and each of you shall be asked concerning his flock; a leader is a shepherd of his people and he shall be asked concerning his flock;(Al Bukhari and Muslim).

Indeed  a mother’s role is even greater. While children are young they are very close to her and dependent upon her and they spend more time her than with anyone else.

Every mother should be conscious of her role and should also do her level best to set the minds of her children on Islamic beliefs as they set out on the journey of life. If the  parents want respect from their children they should teach them at a very early age, but in the present times parents are so occupied that they do not take pains and when they get on with years they expect a lot from their children!
So, as parents it is our duty to prepare our coming generations to be respectful to their parents, teachers and the aged in the society.
